A Guide To Relocating With An Existing Vox Business Fibre Internet Connection
If you're a Vox Business Fibre customer planning to relocate, this article guides you through the process of moving your fibre internet connection to your new location.
What Is A Business Fibre Site Move?
Relocating a business while maintaining a stable fibre internet connection is known as a ''site move''. Given the essential role of internet in business operations, it's crucial to ensure a smooth transition. To help you seamlessly transfer your business fibre internet connection (FTTB) to your new location, follow this simple step-by-step process:
Vox Business Fibre Site Move Process:
- Request Your Site Move:
Contact DSL Telecom at 087 802 0917 to discuss your options. Our team will guide you through the process, beginning with a feasibility check.
- Desktop Feasibility
- Initial Desktop Feasibility/Financial Analysis: DSL Telecom will evaluate whether your new location can be connected with your current fibre package. We'll review your existing contract and check coverage to determine eligibility.
- Assessing Contract Value vs. Implementation Cost: The feasibility evaluation compares the value of your contract and check coverage availability to assess whether the project is viable.
- Feasibility Result Modifications: Network operators may adjust feasibility outcomes due to unexpected factors like additional fees or changes in site requirements.
- Collaborative Adaptation: If there are any changes impacting pricing or installation, we work closely with you to make necessary adjustments before starting the project, ensuring you're fully informed.
- Submit Your Documents
Once you've selected your Vox Business Fibre package:
You'll receive a Customer Order Form (COF) for electronic signing. Once signed and approved, the fibre move process will begin.
- Site Inspection And Planning
A dedicated Service Delivery Manager (SDM) will oversee your move. A contractor will inspect the new premises and create an installation plan. This plan will be shared with you and your landlord for approval.
Important: The installation process cannot proceed without approval from both parties.
- Approvals And Installation Work
Once the site plan is approved, groundwork begins (e.g. trenching, cabling). If municipal approvals (wayleaves) are required, they can take up to 60 days.
- Connection And Completion
A contractor will connect your new fibre line and set up the equipment. Once installation is tested and completed, Vox will replace your old router with a new one.
Installation Timelines:
- If your new location already has fibre infrastructure, installation takes 4 to 8 weeks.
- If new infrastructure is required, installation may take 4 to 6 months, depending on approvals.
Cost Reduction For Existing Fibre Infrastructure:
If your new location already has Vox fibre infrastructure, the one-time site move cost is reduced from R5,500 to R1,500 (subject to change).
Cancellation Policy For Different Fibre Networks
If your new location is serviced by a different Fibre Network Operator (FNO), cancellation policies apply:
Vox Business Fibre requires a 3-month cancellation notice before terminating a contract.
