Adding a secondary location to your Vox MTN Fixed LTE

Adding a secondary location to your Vox MTN Fixed LTE

This article is for existing Vox MTN customers who want to add a secondary location to their fixed MTN LTE service.

What is Fixed LTE?

Fixed LTE, or Fixed LTE-A, is an internet service intended for use at a specific, stationary location. Unlike mobile LTE services, Fixed LTE-A is designed to provide high-speed internet access to a fixed address. It is not meant to be used on the move, and the service is tied to the installation address specified by the customer during the application process.

How Does Fixed LTE Work?

The Fixed LTE service works by transmitting and delivering IP packets between the customer’s equipment and the Vox network through the Mobile Network Operator (MNO) LTE-A network. This connection provides internet access at the designated installation address, ensuring a stable and consistent internet experience.

What is a Secondary Location?

A Secondary Location is an additional address other than the customer’s primary registered location. For example, a customer can have their home address as their primary registered location and their work or holiday home address as their secondary location. This feature allows customers to take their MTN-approved router and SIM to different locations, such as a holiday home or workplace, provided that the secondary location has MTN Fixed LTE coverage.

How Does This Work?

Customers can take their MTN-approved router and SIM to any location with MTN Fixed LTE coverage by setting up a secondary location on their customer portal. It is crucial to update the secondary location details before traveling to ensure uninterrupted service. If the router is turned on at an unregistered location without updating the portal, the SIM will be locked. However, customers can log into t+he customer portal from their mobile device using mobile data to update the location before reconnecting to Wi-Fi.
