A Guide To Relocating With An Existing Liquid Business Fibre Internet Connection
If you're a Liquid Business Fibre customer planning to relocate, this article guides you through the process of moving your fibre internet connection to your new location.
What Is A Business Fibre Site Move?
Relocating a business while maintaining a stable fibre internet connection is known as a ''site move''. Given the essential role of the internet in business operations, it's crucial to ensure a smooth transition. To help you seamlessly transfer your business fibre internet connection (FTTB) to your new location, follow this simple step-by-step process.
Liquid Business Fibre Site Move Process:
- Request Your Liquid Business Fibre Site Move
Contact DSL Telecom at 087 802 0917 to discuss your fibre options at the new location. Our team will guide you through the process, starting with an initial feasibility check.
- Desktop Feasibility
- Initial Desktop Feasibility/Financial Analysis: DSL Telecom will evaluate whether your new location can be connected with your current fibre package. We'll review your existing contract and check coverage availability.
- Assessing Contract Value vs. Implementation Cost: The feasibility evaluation compares the value of your contract with the implementation costs to assess whether the project is viable.
- Feasibility Result Modifications: Network operators may adjust feasibility outcomes due to unexpected factors like additional fees or changes in site requirements.
- Collaborative Adaptation: If there are any changes impacting pricing or installation, we work closely with you to make necessary adjustments before starting the project, ensuring you're fully informed.
- Complete Required Documents
Once you confirm your Liquid Fibre package, you will receive:
- A pre-landlord sign-off document
- A customer order form (COF)
Submit the signed COF to Liquid Business Fibre for service approval. Once approved, the installation process begins.
- Service Delivery Manager (SDM) Assignment
A dedicated Service Delivery Manager (SDM) will oversee your site move, ensuring smooth coordination between you, DSL Telecom, and the contractors.
- Site Inspection And Planning
A contractor will inspect your new premises and draft an installation plan. A detailed planning document will be shared with you and the landlord for review and approval. Both parties must sign the document before work can begin.
- Approvals And Third Party Work
Groundwork begins (trenching, cabling) after planning approvals. If municipal wayleaves (permits) are required, approval can take up to 60 days.
- Fibre Connection And Completion
A contractor will connect the fibre point and install the ONT (Optical Network Terminal). Once testing is complete, they will provide a handover document to DSL Telecom. If you need a router, order one through DSL Telecom for configuration and delivery. If you already have a router, your IT team can configure it using the provided service handover document.
Lead Times And Costs
If you new location already has fibre infrastructure and no trenching is required, installation takes 4 to 8 weeks. A R1,500 once-off fee applies (subject to change).
Cancellation Policy When Moving To A Different Fibre Network Operator (FNO):
If you are switching from Liquid Business Fibre to another provider, a 60-day cancellation notice is required if you are in a contract period, while if you are out of contract, a 30-day cancellation notice applies. Terms vary based on your contract duration and conditions.
For assistance, call DSL Telecom at 087 802 0917.
