Vox LTE Migration 2026: MTN to Telkom Network Explained

Vox LTE Migration 2026: MTN to Telkom Network Explained

If your Vox LTE or 5G service currently runs on the MTN network, this article explains what's changing, when it's happening, and what you need to do.

What is changing?

Vox is migrating all MTN LTE and 5G customers to the Telkom LTE network. This migration is mandatory and will happen in phases throughout 2026. You will receive a new Telkom SIM card, shipped to you at no cost.

Your data plan, pricing, and account details stay the same. The only thing changing is the network your service runs on.

Key migration dates (2026)

The dates below may shift slightly. We'll communicate any updates as they happen.

What the new Telkom LTE service offers

  • Pricing and plan stability. Your data plan, pricing, and account details remain unchanged during and after migration.

  • Unlocked SIM freedom. Move your SIM between devices with no line locking. Geo-locking is removed, so the service works anywhere there's coverage.

  • Total device flexibility. No "approved" 5G router required. Any SIM-enabled device is fully compatible.

  • Better visibility and support. Check your data usage directly via the portal, and SIM swaps no longer require cancellations or reorders.

What happens for specific customer types

  • LTE Failover customers. Tickets are auto-logged on your behalf. No action needed.

  • Advanced SLA customers. You'll receive the address verification link, and our sales team can also initiate the process for you.

  • Temp services activated after 1 June 2026. An engineer will be dispatched to perform the SIM swap.

  • Temp services activated before 1 June 2026. You'll receive the standard address verification link. No engineer dispatch required.

What you need to do

  1. Look out for the address verification link, sent via email or WhatsApp, and confirm your delivery address.

  2. Choose your preferred delivery method: Door-to-Door, Pargo, or PostNet.

  3. Once your new Telkom SIM arrives, insert it into your router between 1 and 16 August 2026, before the MTN network switches off.

  4. If you run into trouble during the swap, reach out to our helpdesk team for assistance.

Frequently asked questions

Will my pricing or data plan change?
No. Your data plan, pricing structure, and account details remain the same before, during, and after the migration.

Do I need to buy a new router?

The MTN network switches off at midnight on 16 August. If your new SIM isn't inserted by then, your service will be affected until you complete the swap.
