They come with more than one access point so that you can get wider wi-fi coverage, faster speeds and a more reliable coverage which is exactly why they call it a Whole-Home Wi-Fi System. Mesh wi-fi works by using two or more mesh wi-fi devices or “nodes” to create a mesh wi-fi network. One node is connected to an internet modem, while the rest can be placed throughout your home to create a powerful and extended wireless network.

Unlike traditional routers, these nodes are all part of the same network and share the same SSID and password. This makes setting and scaling up your mesh network as easy as adding another node. TP-Link Mesh means Deco units work together to form one unified network. Your phone or tablet automatically connects to the fastest Deco as you move through your home, creating a truly seamless Wi-Fi experience.

Your network speeds will be 3x faster than previous generation routers, thanks to 802.11AC wireless technology, making the Deco capable of providing a lag-free connection to 100 devices. Eliminate weak signal areas in your home once and for all with faster and seamless roaming throughout your home, on all your devices.

Features and benefits:

  1. One Name. One Password - Mesh wi-fi allows you to sign into your network with just one network name and one password to receive seamless wi-fi throughout your home.
  2. Seamless Roaming - Seamless roaming allows you to stay connected to your network no matter where you go in your home. Switching from one mesh node to another is so smooth that it’s unnoticeable even when you’re streaming.
  1. Adaptive Routing - Mesh wi-fi routers use adaptive routing to automatically choose the best configuration and band for your data, so that you’re always getting the fastest possible speeds.
  1. Self-Healing - In the event that one of your mesh wi-fi nodes goes down, your Mesh wi-fi network will automatically reroute data to make sure you stay online.

The Deco E4 Wi-Fi Mesh Wi-Fi is ideal for you if:

  • You have a home internet connection that is not faster than 100 Mbps.
  • Your home has Wi-Fi dead spots.
  • You would like to have parental controls to protect your children online.

  • You want to have remote control of your mesh Wi-Fi system from a mobile app.

  • You own Alexa powered devices and want to voice control your home network.

Installing the Deco E4 is fast and easy. Just unpack the system, download the Deco app and follow its directions.

Get the most out of your Deco E4 with these 3 set-up tips:

Tip 1: Choose an outlet with no obstructions - Do not place it under desks or : behind furniture. Thick walls can also interfere with the coverage. Finding a place for your Deco that's higher up (eg: bookcase, shelf, upstairs) can provide better coverage.

Tip 2: Move your Deco away from electric devices such as Bluetooth, USB 3.0 devices, baby monitors, microwave, etc, as these electrical devices radiate a lot of noise on the 2.4GHz band and can affect the Wi-Fi range in your home.

Tip 3: For the best results, there needs to be a clear line of sight from your wireless router to Mesh wi-fi devices.
