Learn how to access your Telkom PPPoE/Data account username and password details

This article is for existing Telkom internet clients who need to access their PPPoE/Data account details.

What is PPPoE?

Point-to-point Protocol over Ethernet (PPPoE) was designed for managing how data is transmitted over Ethernet networks (cable networks), and it allows a single server connection to be divided between multiple clients, using Ethernet. As a result, multiple clients can connect to the same server from the Internet Service Provider and get access to the internet, at the same time, in parallel.

How do I find my Telkom PPPoE username and password?

  • SMS the word 'password' to 012 321 0215 to retrieve your Telkom PPPoE password, this has to be sent from the mobile number associated with the Telkom account.

  • Your Telkom internet password will be sent to you via SMS as soon as your Telkom internet order is approved.

  • The SMS will contain two email addresses, one will be your free Telkom email address and the other will be your data account email address.

  • You need to select the second option with (access) next to the email as this will link directly to your PPPoE.

  • Once you have replied with your selected option, Telkom will send your new password for your username linked to your Telkom internet account.

  • If you don't have your Telkom password or if there has been a delay with your Telkom fibre line installation, simply send an email to TelkomInternetSupport@telkom.co.za or phone the Telkom Internet help desk on 10210 in order to retrieve your Telkom password.
