D-Link DWR-956-TK | How to lock your router to 4G
This article is for clients using the D-Link DWR-956-TK router.
Why would you want to lock your router into 4G?
The maximum theoretical data transfer with 3G technology is 2Mbps. But in practice, you won't get more than 500 Kbps to 1.5Mbps, depending on your carrier, the location of the cell tower, congestion etc. 4G ups the game, with 4G the average download speeds ranged from 5Mbps to 12Mbps and with upload speeds of 2Mbps to 5Mbps.
You'll get better quality video calling on a 4G connection. With a 4G connection speed, you'll get lovely clear images when video calling, as well as less delay and lag.
Surfing the web is at least four times faster than on a 3G connection. For those that love a podcast, 4G will help you download them in seconds and you'll also be able to update apps quickly using 4G LTE. Your apps will be more efficient, whether that's Facebook, Twitter, Netflix or YouTube. A 4G connection will give you quicker status updates, picture uploading and page loading.
