Telkom is currently in the process of shutting down its copper network, which means that all traditional phone lines and ADSL services will be discontinued by 30 November 2020.

How does the migration work?

If you are an existing Telkom ADSL customer and have fibre available in your area, you can easily and seamlessly migrate to a Telkom fibre connection without any billing hassles.

Can I keep my landline number once my Telkom fixed line has been disconnected?

Yes you can. We can help you port your existing Telkom landline number to DSL Telecom's VoIP service. You can either keep your Telkom number or get an 087 xxx xxxx number that's unique to you.

How long does it take to switch to fibre?

The general installation time for Telkom fibre is 7 - 21 working days after the migration order has been processed.

Do I need to buy a new router?

Your existing ADSL router is not compatible for a fibre connection, but Telkom will provide you with a brand new wi-fi router, included for free with your fibre package.
