AI Transcription uses the built-in artificial intelligence in your DSL Telecom Cloud Phone System to convert voicemail and call audio into readable text. You can scan a message in seconds, search past conversations, and keep an accurate record without taking a single note.
What is AI Transcription?
AI Transcription is a built-in feature of the DSL Telecom Cloud Phone System that converts spoken audio into readable text. It covers two things:
AI Voicemail Transcription – automatically converts messages left on your voicemail into accurate, readable text, so you can read a voicemail instead of dialing in to listen to it.
AI Call Transcription – transcribes calls between two parties into readable text and generates a summary once the call ends, helping you review key points and action items afterwards.
Both convert audio into text using the system's built-in AI, and the transcripts appear in your Linkus Client, synced across Web, Desktop, and Mobile.
Why it is useful
Read instead of listen – scan a voicemail in seconds rather than sitting through the whole recording.
Check messages discreetly – read a voicemail during a meeting without holding the phone to your ear.
Keep a record – every transcript is searchable later, which is useful for follow-ups, audits, or simply remembering what was said.

How it works
Once the feature is enabled for your extension, it runs on its own. When a call ends or a voicemail is left, the system's built-in AI converts the audio into text in your chosen language, and the transcript appears in your Linkus Client across all your devices.
It can run in automatic mode, where every voicemail or call is transcribed as it comes in, or manual mode, where you trigger transcription yourself with a single click only when you need it.
A few things worth knowing
Choice of languages – transcription supports multiple languages, and each extension user can set their own preferred language.
Built-in or third-party – the Cloud Phone System includes a built-in AI engine for transcription. A third-party service such as Google or OpenAI can be connected via your own API key, but the built-in AI and a third-party service cannot run at the same time.
Usage limits – AI Transcription is measured in minutes against a capacity allowance. The system monitors usage and sends a notification as you approach the limit, and again when you reach it.
